RULES

RRR25 Package C will be extended and applied to all categories during the event

After careful consideration and alignment with the IRF, as well as individual players feedback,  it was decided to play the EUROs 2025 with the RRR25 Package C (See Rulebook Package C here).

As we are shaping the future of the sport, we want to move forward with the current testing of the rules. We believe that package C will enable exciting gameplay and a more balanced version of our sport. In addition, it will hopefully add more excitement for the viewers and visitors on sight.  To summarize, here is context from the IRF Instagram announcement post (link):

“Rule package C brings together the most effective tested changes PLUS new refinements for an even better Roundnet experience"

What is included?

✅ No same hand toss

✅ 8.5m (27.9ft) out-of-bounds circle

✅ 100cm No Hit Zone (same for all divisions)

✅ Equal serve distribution — 2 serves per player

👉 When serve switches teams, the teammate on the left of the serving team always starts. No more defaulting to the last receiver! Also, instead of rotating every 5 points, we will rotate every time 1 server from each team has served. (so on the 3rd point, 7th point, 11th point, 15th point, etc.)

✅ Server’s teammate is free to move ANYTIME — no need to wait for the server to be set

✅ 3 seconds to serve

✅ 3-touch requirement on first possession

✅ No Drop Zone on serves and hits

✅ Simultaneous defensive touches = 1 touch”
