Road to ETSC Basel 2026: Elite & Pro Division Qualification Guide
Welcome to the official qualification guide for the European Tour Series Championship (ETSC) 2026 in Basel! Whether you are aiming for the Elite division or competing in Pro, here is everything you need to know about how teams are selected, how points are earned, and important deadlines.
1. Qualification Events
Before ETSC Basel, players will compete to earn ranking points and direct invitations at two types of events:
-
European Tour Series (ETS): 4 major, highly competitive events held throughout the season.
-
Sanctioned Events (SE): Multiple regional tournaments where players can also earn valuable points.
2. The Selection Process: How to Reach Elite
The Elite division consists of the top 16 teams in each category [Women, Open, Mix]. Teams can secure their spot in one of two ways:

Path A: Direct Invitations At every ETS event, the Top 3 Pro teams in each category earn a direct invitation to the ETSC Basel Elite division.
-
These teams are given priority over all other registered teams.
-
Invited teams have until July 12th, 2026 to officially confirm their participation.

Path B: Qualification by Team Ranking Points Once the invited teams claim their spots, the remaining openings in the 16-team Elite division will be filled using the official team rankings.
-
Elite Division: The highest-ranked teams from the registered pool will be promoted to fill the remaining Elite spots.
-
Pro Division: All other registered teams that do not make the top 16 will compete in the Pro division.
3. Key Dates & Registration Timeline
Mark your calendars! The selection process happens on a strict timeline:
-
May 4th, 2026: Initial registration for ETSC Basel opens.
-
May 8th, 2026: The initial lottery process is executed.
-
May 9th, 2026: Registration re-opens on a first-come, first-served basis for any remaining open spots.
-
July 12, 2026: Deadline! Teams must inform EURA if they accept their invitation to the Elite division.
-
July 13, 2026: Roster Lock. Teams that accepted their invitations are officially moved to Elite. Immediately after, the highest-ranked Pro teams are promoted to fill the remaining slots until the Elite division reaches exactly 16 teams.
4. Dropouts, Upgrades, and Roster Changes
After the July 13th roster lock, the divisions are mostly set. However, the following exceptions apply:
-
An Elite Team Drops Out: The next highest-rated team from the Pro division (including the next-up replacement team from the waiting list) is immediately upgraded to the Elite division to take their spot.
-
A Pro Team Drops Out / A New Team Joins: This will not trigger a ranking refresh. The Elite division composition remains strictly unchanged unless an Elite team withdraws.
-
An Elite Team Changes its Roster: If an Elite team must change a player due to injury or a last-minute emergency, a ranking recalculation is triggered. If the newly formed team's score drops below the top Pro division team, the highest-ranked Pro team will be upgraded, and the newly formed team will be swapped down to the Pro division.
5. How Team Scores are Calculated
To reward both peak performance and consistency, a team's total ranking score is simply the sum of Player 1's Score + Player 2's Score.
Each individual player's score is built using their 3 best results:
-
Score 1: Best result from an ETS 2026 event.
-
Score 2: Second-best result from an ETS 2026 event.
-
Score 3 (The Flex Score): This is the highest value between either your 3rd best ETS 2026 result OR the sum of your 2 best SE 2026 results.
(Maximum Potential Points: A team that wins 3 ETS events will hit the absolute point ceiling of 3,000 points).
