ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Squad Match Structure and Rules

Squad matchups are based on team rankings submitted by each NGB. These rankings should reflect an honest assessment of team strength and are not intended as a strategic element. Due to the limited knowledge of many countries and new pairings, rankings must come directly from each NGB to ensure fairness.

EURA will take into account EURA ranking in order to assess the honest assessment.

  • Teams are matched by rank: A vs A, B vs B, C vs C, and so on.

  • All matches are played concurrently, and the first squad to win 3 matchups secures the overall win. Any ongoing matches are stopped once a squad clinches victory.

Forfeits
If a squad is missing a team and the opponent has a team available to face them, it counts as a forfeit (15–7 score).

  • If a player is injured and an alternate is used, the squad must submit an updated team ranking to the seeding committee before bracket play begins (see the Alternates section for details.)

Special Matchup Scenarios

  1. Squad of 5 vs Squad of 3 or 4
The squad with 5 teams may assign matchups as needed, maintaining relative rank order (e.g., A vs A, C vs B, D vs C).

  2. Squad of 4 vs Squad of 4
If the match ends 2–2, the tiebreakers are:
    - Total games won (highest)
    Point differential (highest)
Sudden Death: Each squad selects one team. Flip a coin for serve. First team to win a point on their serve wins.

  3. Squad of 3 vs Squad of 3
Winner is the first to 2 match wins.

  4. Squad of 4 vs Squad of 3
    Squad of 4 receives 1 forfeit win.Squad of 4 needs 2 more match wins;
Squad of 3 must win all 3 remaining matches to take the overall win.

If tied 2–2, use the following tiebreakers:
    Total games won
    Point differential
    Sudden Death (same as above)
Note: In unplayed (forfeit) matchups, the winning team is credited with 2 games won; the losing team with 0. Point differential is not counted for forfeits.

  5. Squad of 5 vs Squad of 3
Squad of 5 receives 2 forfeit wins.
Squad of 5 needs just 1 more win; Squad of 3 must win all 3 remaining matches.
