Glossary

Category - Used to describe a group of players segment by sex, for example, Women, Men, Open, Mix.

Division - Used to describe a group of players segmented by skill level, for example, Pro, Contender. Can be used together with a category, for example, Women Pro, Mix Contender.

Division Definition

Pro Division

This is the top division. Players must qualify to be eligible to play. Find more information about it here: EURA PRO STATUS

Contender Division

No PRO PLAYER is allowed to play in the Contender Division. Read more bellow!

This division is for highly competitive players across Europe who want to earn Pro status. We recommend this division to players:

1. Who have played 10+ official roundnet tournaments with at proven results.

2. Played at least one international tournament.

3. Whose main objective is to earn Pro Status, so you could play with and against the best in Europe!

Plays with the current IRF published rules.

No PRO players may register to play Contender category.

If a player earns PRO status after being registered in the contender division, the following actions depend on the specific case.

Case 1: Both players in the team now have PRO status

1. If there are free slots in the PRO division, the team will be moved to it. The team players have the responsibility of informing the Tournament Director of this and requesting the move. Otherwise they can face disqualification from the tournament.

2. If there are no free slots in the PRO division, the team can stay in the CONTENDER division. The team players have the responsibility of informing the Tournament Director of their earner PRO status. Otherwise they can face disqualification from the tournament. It is after that the Tournament Director responsibility to monitor opportunities to move the team to the PRO division.

Case 2: One of the players in the team has PRO status

1. The player is strongly encouraged to seek another player with PRO status to team up for the PRO division. Likewise, the other player is encouraged to find a CONTENDER player to team up with and play in the CONTENDER division. In case when players find new partners, they have the priority in the waiting list, if there is any.

2. In case the players cannot find new partners, they are allowed to play in the CONTENDER division.
